Our Mission
Our mission is to build a community led by LGBTIQ+ people of colour - individuals who are often pushed to the margins, even within marginalised spaces. At the same time, we welcome conscientious queer allies, especially those who face intersectional marginalisation related to other aspects of their identity or lived experience, including:
Immigration Status
Religious or cultural background
Disability
Survivorship
Homelessness
We aim to:
Promote the health and wellbeing of our community by prioritising mutual aid over nightlife-focused activities.
Host regular gatherings in both in-person and digital/hybrid formats.
Facilitate structured peer-to-peer support, prioritising this wherever possible before signposting to mainstream services.
Secure sufficient resources to add significant value to the lives of queer Londoners by addressing needs that are often overlooked.
We ask all members to approach the experiences of others with sensitivity, respect, and a genuine commitment to listen and learn.
We recognise that solidarity across difference is essential to our collective liberation.
What is marginalisation?
Marginalisation is the treatment of a person or group of people as unimportant in society (pushing them towards the “margins”).
What is intersectionality?
Intersectionality describes the interconnected nature of aspects of our identity such as race, class, gender and sexuality, creating both overlapping and independent systems of disadvantage or discrimination.
